Obtaining accurate, real-time information on the size of the fire, meteorological conditions, dryness of local vegetation and many other variables is key to effectively dispatching firefighting resources and stopping the progress of a fast moving blaze. TAG UAVs can assist the firefighting effort by being first on the scene, scouting along the projected path of the blaze and collecting valuable data on the state of the conflagration in areas too dangerous or rugged for conventional vehicles. Constructed of a lightweight, modular design, these VTOL aircraft be operated independently of a heliport or airstrip, and can loiter over the affected area for up to 8 hours.    These UAVs can also function as communications repeaters, extending the range of base stations and reducing radio ‘blind spots’ for firefighters or smokejumpers in mountainous areas.
